Economic Advantage team

Anthony Cross joined Liontrust in 1997 and launched the Liontrust UK Smaller Companies Fund in 1998. He has also managed the Special Situations and UK Micro Cap funds since launch. 

Matthew Tonge joined the Economic Advantage team in 2015 to help research and analyse companies across the small cap universe, having worked closely with Anthony Cross for many years. Matt originally moved to the Liontrust trading desk in 2003 from Barclays Capital Asset Management.

Victoria Stevens joined the Economic Advantage team in June 2015 to help research and analyse investment opportunities primarily across the small cap universe. She previously worked for almost five years at finnCap Ltd, the growth company specialist broking and advisory firm, latterly as deputy head of corporate broking.

Alex Wedge joined the Economic Advantage team in March 2020 and became a co-manager at the start of 2021. Alex moved from Singer Capital Markets, one of the largest dedicated small cap brokers in London, where he had spent over seven years, latterly as a senior member of the equity sales team.

Natalie joined the Economic Advantage team as a fund manager in August 2022, moving from the Responsible Capitalism team where she led engagement with investee companies. Prior to joining Liontrust in February 2021, she was at EY for over six years as part of its Corporate Governance team.

Alex joined the Economic Advantage team as a fund manager in 2024. He previously spent nearly 10 years at Unicorn Asset Management, co-managing a range of funds, including two UK equity funds and an AIM portfolio service. Prior to this Alex spent two years at Stanhope Capital as an Associate Consultant. 

Bobby Powar joined the Economic Advantage team as a fund manager in 2024, and in January 2025 became co-manager of the Liontrust Global Smaller Companies Fund. Bobby moved from Artemis Investment Management, where he was a Global Equity Analyst.
